Proprietors and Managers of Hotels in the State have been warned not to pay money by cash to any revenue agent in the name of Tax to avoid the risk of being defrauded by fraudsters.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mrs Queen Agwu who gave this warning in a meeting with proprietors and management of Hotels, Gardens and Hospitality related business outfits in the state enjoined them to the bank and clear all their indebtedness to government within the shortest possible time to avoid their businesses been sealed off by government.

Mrs Agwu explained that there was need for them to keep their Hotels and  surroundings clean to boost  patronage and reputation and charged them to report on time any challenge they experience on the side of government while running their businesses to the ministry for immediate attention.

The chairman of Hotel proprietors, Ebnyi State chapter, Mr Hycinth Nwode and the Manager of Salt Lake Hotel Mrs Ejioga George assured the permanent secretary of the association’s loyalty and obedience to government directive and appealed to the ministry to intervene in the leadership tussle between hotel and guest house owners
